Tools of the Trade

Hi, again this is Reign, in this post i will tell you some of the things you will need....

1. Graphite pencils- they come in a vareity of sizes, the two main are hard and soft graphite pencils- great range of light and shadow.

2. Pens- lets you put a nice touch on your picture with ink, sometimes used with a brush.

3.Paper- i suggest a paper that doesnt allow bleeding ( or showing patches of picture on oppossite side of paper), but whatever suits you.

4.Wacom tablet- a premier tool in the art industry, lets you draw a picture from the device right onto the computer screen.

5. A Good Computer- helps you put alot of files and download  and upload to your desire, any computer will do, but the industry standard is an apple mac.

6. Time alone- most important, you dont want to be bothered everytime your getting into your next masterpeice do you?

7. Insiration- You will find this at random times in random places, keep a sketchbook or loose paper handy, which brings me to...

8. Sketchbook- a place for all your ideas, it might eventually seem cluttered, but rest assured your ideas cant be in a better place

9. Drawing table- a nice ease for backpain and sore necks, at an angle, it makes drawing much more fun.

10. Multiple magnifying glass- or a simple one, if you want to put in those little details that make your drawing the best.

11.Time away from your art- this is the best time for laying back and doing other things, the best ideas come when your not thinking about them.

12. scanner/printer- a good tool for your computer to imprint that art into artificial memory when your memory isnt enough and when you want to showoff on the internet.

13. books ( for art)- refine your talent as much as you can, there is always something you can be better at.

14. books ( in general)- who knows, your next masterpiece could come from those pages.

15. A good night sleep - very important! there will be some long hours in a sitting position looking at one simgle thing, and also an awake brain functions better

these are some of the things you will need as an artist, there might be a few things ive left out, comment those if you feel the need to.

thanks,
S.M.
